Life-Saving Freedom

Silence is Strength.

“SILENCE IS STRENGTH”- My mom.

This will stay with me forever.

It’s been a while, the battle has been tough, but this battle we call life, is like this for a reason; to learn… learn the hard way.

I have learned the hard way who my friends are, who are worth adjusting for, who are worth fighting for, and then I learned which people are worth dirt.

I saw unity, by looking around the 2bo7c classroom on Friday, August 7, 2009, seeing all my batchmates working together, helping each other finish their designs, no matter the social differences or the grudges. I saw people who normally don’t talk to each other help each other out, and really reach out to show that they are not alone, that we are all in the same position, and we will help each other finish by the deadline.

I saw love, by looking through my drawer yesterday and finding a blue bracelet given to me by my friend a long time ago, back when she and I weren’t even that close; back when I was still new to the barkada or group. It was a small token of love, but it meant a lot. It showed that she included me and accepted me, even under the circumstances. And I’m willing to accept all of them too. No matter what. And hopefully, we can all start on a new page (or as we can say, plate) and forgive and move on.

I saw pure fun and laughter and happiness on August 8, 2009, at the CAFA Acquaintance Party. Through the faces of stress, of worry, and of exhaustion, happiness glowed through. The happiness of being with friends by the beach, of being surrounded by those who understand the stress of school, those who are all creative and amazingly talented in our own ways. Happiness of being able to be free and play games and sing your heart away endlessly.

And most importantly of all, I saw family. Those three things named above, are what family is all about. They are there for you, no matter how messed up your life may be, no matter how bad you may feel. Family is there to stay, whether you like it or not. No words can express how much I love my family. I may not show it all the time, but I sure do feel it. And there are people out there who know that I consider them my family too. You know who you are.

All in all. Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind.

This is my life. I’m gonna live it. I’m not gonna run away. I’m not gonna give up.
To all, thanks for being here and being a part of my ever so random, palpak, hilarious, weird, wonderful journey called life.
